How to get to UQAM?

Travelling by plane? Please visit the website of Pierre-Eliott-Trudeau International Airport (YUL) to learn about the different options. We recommend the bus shuttle 747 that can take you right into the heart of Quartier des spectacles. For more information, please click here.

Taking the bus? The bus station is located in the middle of the conference perimeter. Here’s the website (just click here)

Planning a train ride? The Via Rail train station is located a few subway stations away from UQAM, so it is very easy to go from and to. Taxi cabs are always in waiting if you prefer to use them to get to your accommodation. For more information, please click here.

Attractions

The Conference dates correspond to the Juste pour rire / Just for Laughs and the Zoofest Comedy festivals, and all their activities are accessible within a few minutes’ walk from UQAM, the hotels and the Résidences. Movie theatres, public parks, museums and a variety of attractions are also easily accessible. Being in the middle of the Quartier des spectacles offers more opportunities than one can enjoy, for all budgets.

Weather

We might be located in the North part of North America, but we do have a “real” summer. You can expect temperatures to be between 24’C (75’F) and 36’C (97’F) when it’s nice and sunny. It can be a little humid too at times. Weather is probably the most talked-about subject in Quebec, so… Well, be open to surprises !

Recreation

Campus recreation facilities include an indoor swimming pool, and the Recreational Sports Center contains a broad range of exercise equipment and racquetball courts.

Off campus, the Parc Maisonneuve, the Mont Royal, the Old Port of Montréal are just a few locations that you can enjoy if you like running, walking and sightseeing.

Both hotels (Les Gouverneurs and the Delta Montreal) offer a swimming pool and a gym.

For those who love shopping, the Ste.Catherine Street is THE destination and, once again, only a few blocks away. On a sunny day, it is a nice walk. Otherwise, the Metro could lead you to the main stores in less than three stations.
